Your Complete Facial Guide to Cosmetic Options

When it comes to looking your best, there are a variety of cosmetic treatment options currently on the market that can help. Your options for facial cosmetic treatments have never been better, with most treatments currently available being minimally invasive, ensuring you do not have to suffer through lengthy recovery times. These treatments can help your skin look as clear and young as ever. Take a look at our facial guide and what facial cosmetic options we currently have available for you:

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Technology has advanced over the years, making even it easier to treat skin blemishes and sun damage with ease. One of the most successful facial cosmetic treatments currently on the market is laser skin resurfacing. This procedure uses laser technology to direct concentrated light beams at your skin. This will help improve the texture, tone, and overall appearance of your skin. Laser skin resurfacing is an ideal treatment that can help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, treat skin discoloration, redness, and brown spots. Laser skin resurfacing also helps to remove previous acne and surgical scars or unwanted body hair. This procedure can work through the use of ablative lasers to remove the outer skin layer, removing any visible damage. Non-ablative lasers will simply heat up your skin tissue to help renew the collagen production in your skin, making it firm up.

Chemical Peels

Another great way to remove any blemishes on your skin is through a chemical peel. This type of cosmetic procedure has been around for years. Chemical peels work similar to ablative laser skin resurfacing by removing the damaged skin layer. Instead of a laser, we use a chemical solution that will cause the outer skin layers to slowly peel away. The end results will be noticeable after a few days as the skin layer continues to peel off, leaving you with smoother looking skin. Chemical peels can treat the same skin imperfections that laser skin resurfacing can, along with removing precancerous skin growths. We will help you pick out a light, medium or deep chemical peel; the deeper the chemical peel, the more recovery time your face will require. Deep peels are ideal for removing more pronounced wrinkles and acne scars.

Dermabrasion and Microdermabrasion

Instead of using laser technology or a chemical peel to remove the outermost layer of your skin, you can choose a dermabrasion. This cosmetic procedure utilizes an instrument that will slough off your skin damage and bring out the younger and healthier skin tissue found below. This type of procedure is offered through two different formats: dermabrasion and microdermabrasion. Dermabrasions use our rapidly rotating instrument to help remove skin tissue layer by layer and require a topical anointment during the procedure. This type of procedure goes deeper than a microdermabrasion, which is better utilized for exfoliation. Only certain skin types are recommended for a dermabrasion, while microdermabrasion is perfect for all skin types. Dermabrasion is recommended to help balance out your skin complexion and remove scars and blemishes while a microdermabrasion is perfect for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and age spots.

Microneedling

Sometimes your skin tissue needs some resurfacing to help your body naturally heal any imperfections. We can cause superficial “injuries” to your skin through a process called microneedling. The injuries are microscopic and caused by very fine needles so you cannot see them. This process will trigger your body to begin healing, causing the collagen and elastin in your skin to regenerate. This will allow us to treat skin damage such as wrinkles, scars, large skin pores, hyperpigmentation, and even stretch marks. Microneedling is great for all skin types, including darker skin tones that laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels cannot safely treat. Microneedling results may not be as dramatic as other procedures but you will not have to worry about any downtime.

Intense Pulsed Light

While our laser skin resurfacing uses a focused single laser wavelength, our intense pulsed light uses a broad spectrum for treatment. When used in brief pulses, this procedure can treat various skin issues. Most importantly, intense pulsed light is ideal for the treatment of pigmentation issues. The broad wavelengths help absorb any excess pigmentation to help your skin look even. Intense pulsed light also helps to reinvigorate collagen production in your skin, but not at the level of our other procedures. Since no skin is removed during this procedure, you will experience no downtime. Get rid of hyperpigmentation, spider veins, rosacea, and texture problems with an intense pulsed light procedure.
