If you want to get rid of that droopy double chin and achieve a firmer, more youthful look, let us at the Laser Lipo and Vein Center help. We now offer Kybella—an exciting new procedure for getting rid of that double chin to give you a more profiled look. Here are a few of the most common questions we receive about Kybella and its exciting results.
What is Kybella?
Kybella is a new injectable that is used to eliminate double chin. It is a non-surgical, injection based procedure recently approved by the FDA.
The injection is a non-animal, non-human type of deoxycholic acid. This is a substance that does occur naturally in the body and has been show to absorb unwanted fat. Kybella works by essentially destroying the fat cells causing the double chin. Many patients will find Kybella injections to be a better alternative than surgery for getting rid of double chins.
Who is a good candidate for Kybella?
Patients who have mild to moderate double chins and are in good health will be good candidates for Kybella.
How many Kybella treatments/injections are required?
The number of Kybella treatments required for the best results will vary by individual with the entire process requiring several visits. Most patients will receive between 12 to 20 injections during each visit, and most only need two to three visits. In some cases, some patients may need up to 50 injections per visit and up to six visits. Kybella cost varies based on the number of injections and treatment sessions required.
What are the side effects of Kybella?
As with other injectables, Kybella injections may have minor side effects including pain, swelling or firmness at the injection sites. Some patients have reported some numbness that has usually resolved itself within a short time.
Can Kybella eliminate sagging skin?
Some reports have indicated that Kybella can help reduce the signs of sagging skin. In some cases, Kybella can be used in combination with other products and procedures to eliminate that sagging skin to provide an overall firmer look to the chin and neck area.
